Cute cafe. Right next to the pinball museum. Wish I lived closer, I'd be here all the time. Hummus comes with pita, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Perfect and delicious. Iced chai with oat milk and extra shot is soooo good.

Eastern Cafe is one of the only few cafes/coffee spots in the International District and it's a good one. I've been here a few times for a drink, non-alcoholic and alcoholic, and I've always had a pleasant experience.
In my most recent visit I was waiting to have lunch with a friend nearby, so decided to visit Eastern Cafe and read until she was ready. On a weekday before lunch time, the place wasn't too busy, but there were a few people, most of them working on their laptops. It's nice to have that option here, especially since they have free wifi and spacious seating on the lower and upper levels.
I ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee and it was good, and really liked that it tasted mostly of the bold coffee flavor than the sweetness from the condensed milk. I would get this drink again, if not tempted by the other various beverages they offer here.
They have a full espresso menu, with seasonal specialties, pastries and more savory items like sandwiches and crepes. When I've visited at night they've offered cocktails! There's something for everyone here. And on a nice day they do have a few patio tables and chairs parked outside the entrance. Eastern Cafe is a much-needed business in the International District, serving a range of drinks and offering a welcoming space for work and play. -

The buzz here is chirpy but despite the 90 plus degree day, it is a store run by people who don't believe in air conditioning.
Yeah the music is nice and service is good but the staff seems to needlessly make slapping banging noises.
They have lots of tables and chairs for the room but no power strips under the big table and slightly uncomfortable chairs.
This is weird seeing as how Seattle is now a town that has long since been taking over by aerospace (actual) engineers (e.g. Boeing) and now is being occupied by (faux engineers) software developers.
All of those people, men, and women need laptops, coffee, and laptops that need power, so why restrict us from electricity after you power us with pretty good coffee?
The coffee is quite dark and while not over-roasted... it overpowers the tastebuds like a steamroller when I just need a bicycle.
I likely won't be back as I prefer a business that has Ac, medium toast coffee and power outlets for keeping my laptop charged.

We met here for a gathering of friends, sure enough, one of the software people needed a few more minutes of laptop juice... none to be found. -

I frequented Eastern several times a week for about half a year until all the staff and manager were gone in Spring '19. So did the irreverent music that accompanied their friendly service and frequent buyer program.
I've since returned with less frequency to find different staff each time. What's up with the turnover? The service? -

Had a meeting with some prospects here and craving some Vietnamese Coffee. I was very disappointed with the coffee. It's very watery and didn't have that strong taste. However, the environment was nice. There are two levels for seatings. The upstairs was very nice.
